What makes "Made in the North West Highlands" a powerful label? For Noost Knit Co., a heritage knitwear manufacturer in Ullapool, we answered this by celebrating the grit, stories and people of Scotland's coastal communities.
Our brand supports their mission to create exceptional quality knitwear that lasts for generations while championing local suppliers and creating opportunities for their area. At its heart is a logo where flowing organic strokes represent both the rugged coastal "Noosts" where boats dock and the yarn of wool itself, connecting land and sea through colours inspired by yellow sand meeting charcoal earth.
We developed a complete visual identity with letterpress style typography, lino-cut illustration styles collaborating with local artists, and messaging rooted in their manifesto: "For the good folk." The result? A brand that positions quality over volume, from bespoke textures and a welcoming tone of voice to a website built to showcase their knitting services and pre-order releases for a community that values craftsmanship.
